Terms & Services
Home Terms & Services
Last updated 5 October 2026
These Terms & Services govern your use of the Shou Health website, journal, planning forms, and seasonal letters. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please leave the pages and do not submit a form.
Shou Health is an education and appointment-request desk. The site helps people prepare for healthcare conversations. It is not a hospital, a pharmacy, an emergency service, or a promise of medical treatment.
1. Who these terms cover
These terms cover every visitor, whether you only read, join the letter list, or request a planning conversation. They also cover parents and guardians who write about a child. When you write about someone else, you confirm that you are allowed to share that limited information and that you will keep the note short.
“We,” “us,” and “the desk” mean Shou Health. “You” means the person using the site. “Services” means the public pages, the journal, the letter list, clinician profiles, pricing descriptions, and the forms that collect a request. Services do not include diagnosis, prescription, dispensing of medication, or emergency response.
2. Educational content is not personal advice
Articles, checklists, clinician biographies, and plan descriptions are general information. They are written for a wide audience. They do not know your history, your medicines, or your examination findings. You must not rely on them as a personal care plan.
Only a clinician who has actually spoken with you, and who is allowed to care for you, can give advice that belongs to you. A form confirmation message is not that advice. A match to a profile is not an examination. A suggested question list is not a diagnosis.
Never start, stop, or change a medicine because of something you read here. Bring questions to a qualified clinician instead. We do not sell or ship medication, and we do not interpret prescriptions through the website.
3. Emergencies
The website is not monitored in real time. Forms are reviewed on weekdays. If you have chest pressure, trouble breathing, fainting, heavy bleeding, a sudden severe headache, a child who is hard to wake, or any thought of harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services immediately. Do not wait for an email.
If you submit urgent language anyway, we may be unable to reach you in time. Submitting a form can delay care if you treat it as a substitute for emergency help. You agree not to use the site for that purpose.
4. Appointment requests
An appointment form is a request for a planning conversation. It is not a confirmed booking. A time is reserved only when a coordinator writes back and you accept. Until then, you should not travel, take time away from work, or delay other care on the assumption that a seat is held.
We may decline a request, suggest a different clinician, or ask you to rewrite a note that contains too much sensitive detail. We may also pause requests when the desk is full. Decline is not a comment on the importance of your health. It is a limit of this website.
You agree to provide a real name and a real email address that you check. You agree not to impersonate another person. Preferred dates are wishes, not entitlements.
5. Planning tiers
The Essential, Household, and Complete descriptions explain preparation support. They are not invoices, and this website does not take payment. A price shown on the pricing page is a published planning figure so you can compare depth of support. No charge occurs until you and the desk agree in a separate email. You may walk away before that agreement.
Planning support never includes medication, procedures, hospital care, or a guaranteed clinical result. If a later conversation involves a clinician’s professional fee, that fee is separate and will be explained by the person providing the care. Nothing on this site sets that fee.
6. Letters and unsubscribing
If you subscribe, we may send a few letters each month about rest, prevention, journal pieces, and visit preparation. You can unsubscribe from the unsubscribe page or by emailing care@shouhealth.com. We will not ask you to pay to leave the list.
Unsubscribing stops future letters. It does not automatically delete an appointment request you already sent. Ask in the message if you want that request removed as well, and we will handle it as described in the privacy policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. Misuse includes sending malware, attempting to break the forms, scraping the site in a way that degrades it for others, posting unlawful content, harassing clinicians or staff, and uploading another person’s intimate or medical images. The forms do not accept file uploads. Do not try to paste large records into a text box.
You agree not to use the journal as advertising for products, clinics, or treatments you sell. You agree not to copy our pages and present them as your own medical service.
8. Accounts and messages
There is no member login on this website. A “request” lives in the message you send and in our later email reply. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you type. If you notice a mistake, email the desk and say what should be corrected.
We may keep a copy of correspondence so we can answer you and so we can show what was requested. Retention is described in the privacy policy. Do not assume a message disappears when you close the browser. The success line you see after a valid form is a confirmation that the page accepted your entries on your device. These pages do not operate a hidden clinical record system.
9. Intellectual property
The Shou Health name, heart-and-cross mark, page design, and original writing are owned by Shou Health or used with permission. You may share links to our pages. You may quote a short passage with credit for personal, non-commercial discussion. You may not copy entire articles, republish the clinician profiles, or reuse the logo as if you were Shou Health.
Photographs on the site show real clinical and everyday scenes used to illustrate topics. They are not pictures of your care, and the people shown are not making a promise about your outcome.
10. Third-party services
Pages may load typefaces from a font host so the design can match the intended look. Share buttons open services such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, or your email program. Those services have their own terms. We do not control them. A link to a journal source or a public health idea is not an endorsement of every page on that destination.
11. Disclaimers
The site is provided as available. We work to keep pages accurate and the forms usable, but we do not warrant that content is complete, current, or fit for a particular medical purpose. Medicine changes. A paragraph that was fair when it was written may later need a revision. Check the date and ask a clinician about anything that matters to a decision.
We do not warrant uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting trouble, or a broken device on your side can hide a page. Keep your own copy of any note you cannot afford to lose.
12. Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by the rules that apply to you, Shou Health is not liable for decisions you make solely from an article, for delays caused by treating a form as emergency care, or for losses that arise from email that does not arrive. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed work or a worsened condition, where those rules allow that limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including responsibility for fraud or for harm caused by deliberate misconduct. If a rule where you live gives you mandatory rights, those rights remain.
13. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the device, browser, and email account you use. You are responsible for telling the truth in forms and for keeping copies of replies that matter to you. You are responsible for seeking in-person or locally available care when a situation is beyond a planning website.
If you are under the age where you can agree to these terms where you live, use the site only with a parent or guardian. Do not send children’s photographs or unnecessary detail about a minor.
14. Changes to the site and to these terms
We may add clinicians, retire a journal piece, adjust a planning tier, or rewrite a form. We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. Continued use after the new date means you accept the update. If a change is substantial, we may also mention it in a letter to people who still subscribe.
15. Ending use
You may stop using the site at any time. We may stop offering a form, a letter, or a profile if we need to. Ending use does not erase a message already sent. Privacy requests are handled under the privacy policy.
16. Contact about these terms
Questions about these Terms & Services can be sent to care@shouhealth.com. Please use a clear subject line. We do not provide a phone line or a street address for legal notices through this website. Email is the contact path.
If you also have a medical question, use the appointment form rather than a legal note. Mixing the two makes both harder to route.
